Ginetta Wins Award in The British School of Millinery Tiara Headdress Competition.
I asked Ginetta about her experience..
“I had created this particular Wedding Crown for a client at the same time I received the August issue of HATalk Magazine. The invitation to enter the British School of Millinery Competition was to design and make a Wedding Headdress for a member of the Royal Family.
The inspiration for the design was a collaboration between my client and myself. The client knew she wanted a tiara like crown to compliment her gown. Her brief was to make her feel like a princess and I took my inspiration from past Royal Weddings.
Her gown was a very full skirt, made from lace. The bodice was beaded in pearls, crystals and crystal montees, therefore, the crown had to be elegant to match the regalness of the dress. To create this effect, I created a crown that was symmetrical using the excess lace of her dress and incorporating contrasting leaves in pearls and crystals to create the rich texture and sparkle my client desired.
My client was so thrilled with her completed piece that she ultimately encouraged me to enter this competition.
The email I received from Denise Innes- Spencer informed me that I was placed a joint 3rd.”
